Kennewick man jailed over weekend for alleged assault

A Kennewick man was jailed over the weekend after allegedly holding his girlfriend against her will and assaulting her.

Kevin Birch, 27, was booked in to the Benton County jail Sunday morning on investigation of felony domestic violence, an order violation and unlawful imprisonment.

Kennewick police said Toscanini Wojonas, 25, said she left the Kennewick Parkade with her boyfriend early Sunday morning, and they walked to a home on the 600 block of South Hartford Street.

That is when she she Birch assaulted her and wouldn't let her leave.

She said she was able to escape around 5 a.m. and sought medical attention at Kadlec Regional Medical Center. She was treated and released and went to the Kennewick police station.

Birch was arrested at a home in the 300 block of S. Ledbetter St., police said.
