CRIME: Kennewick man jailed for assaulting girlfriend

A Kennewick man was jailed over the weekend after allegedly holding his girlfriend against her will and assaulting her.

Kevin Birch, 27, was booked in to the Benton County jail Sunday morning on investigation of felony domestic violence, an order violation and unlawful imprisonment.

Kennewick police said Toscanini Wojonas, 25, said she left the Kennewick Parkade with her boyfriend early Sunday morning and they walked to a home at on the 600 block of South Hartford Street.

That’s when she says Birch assaulted her and wouldn’t let her leave.

She said she was able to escape about 5 a.m. and sought medical attention at Kadlec Regional Medical Center. She was treated and released for her injuries and went to the Kennewick police station.

Birch was arrested at home at 312 S. Ledbetter St., said police.
