RICHLAND -- Joel Johnson placed first overall in the Boys 13-15 age division and Lindsey Bradley took first in the Girls 13-15 age group at the Titanium Man Junior Triathlon on Saturday at Howard Amon Park in Richland.
Johnson paced the pack in the 500-yard swim, 9-mile bike and 2-mile run, and Luke Harrison and Ryan Engledow placed second and third overall among boys in the senior race, respectively.
Sidney Bullock and Emily Gomez took second and third, respectively, to round out the senior girls' top three spots.
Meanwhile, Josiah Johnson and Salma Preppernau were the Under 13 division's boys and girls champions in a shortened triathlon course for younger competitors made up of a 200-yard swim, 4 1/2-mile bike and a 1-mile run.
"It was a record crowd," said race director Eric Greager. "We had 200 kids and we got everybody safe to the finish line -- a good experience."
