Firefighters have doused a five-acre fire in Pasco.
The blaze started about 1:45 p.m. and burned mostly tumbleweeds and sagebrush off East Superior Street and North Beech Avenue.
The fire caused between $5,000 to $10,000 worth of damage to vinyl fencing behind about six homes, officials said.
Firefighters were concerned about really getting it out because of increased wildfire danger.
Fire officials havent determined a cause yet. Initial reports indicate some youth were seen running from the area, said Pasco fire Chief Bob Gear. Gear said he doesnt know if they were involved though.
The Pasco police officers were on the scene investigating.
Units from Pasco, Walla Walla Fire District 5, Richland, Kennewick and U.S. Fish and Wildlife responded.
No one was injured.
