Bail was set at $250,000 for a 29-year-old Pasco man accused of shooting an 18-year-old outside a west Pasco home last weekend.

Peter Xayasounthone is being held in the Franklin County jail for investigation of first-degree assault.

Xayasounthone was arrested by Pasco police early Saturday after firing shots at a group of men who allegedly were vandalizing a car at the Savary Drive home where Xayasounthone was a guest.

It's the second time in a week that Pasco police were called about a clash at the same home. A week earlier, on Aug. 6, three men were robbed outside the house. Two of the victims live there.

This weekend, Xayasounthone was at a party at a home on the 7900 block of Savary Drive when a group of uninvited guests showed up about 4 a.m., according to police and court documents.

A fight started when the group was told to leave and the uninvited guests began damaging a car parked at the house, documents said. Windows were broken out and the side mirrors were damaged, documents said.

That's when Xayasounthone reportedly fired several shots at the group, hitting one man in the shoulder, documents said.

Neighbors called 911 after hearing the shots but when police arrived a the house, people inside reportedly said they hadn't heard anything because the music was too loud, police said.

The victim, later identified as Javier Casas, 18, of Richland, was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland.

Officers talked to the owner of the house, Bounmy Sabandith, who said his friend, Xayasounthone, shot at the group as they were leaving, documents said.

A .357 Ruger revolver was found inside the home. Five spent casings also were found during the search, documents said.

Prosecutors have until 4 p.m. Wednesday to charge Xayasounthone or release him.
