* 2006 -- The Kennewick American 10s bounced back from an opening-round loss at the Cal Ripken World Series in Lafayette, La., beating Oviedo, Fla., 9-5 for its fourth consecutive win. Mitchell Mueller pitched a complete game, and Clayton Ayers hit a three-run home run.

* 1995 -- Tri-City Posse pitcher John Welgarz threw a no-hitter in a 1-0 win over Palm Springs at Tri-Cities Stadium in Pasco. Welgarz, the Western Baseball League strikeout leader, struck out 15 batters. Gil McDonough's RBI single in the fifth inning was all the run support Welgarz needed.
