Steve David bounced back by easily winning the heat in Oberto, never being threatened by 88 Degree Men driver J. Michael Kelly.

But it's too little, too late. It's highly doubtful that Oberto will get into the final.

"This is the only boat that can take on the 96 (Villwock) this weekend and it's a shame we can't find out," said David. "It's clearly my fault. The blame is on me."

Oberto finished the three heats with 776 points.

Kelly finished with 300 points for second, while Mike Webster in the U-22 was third for 225 points.

Jon Zimmerman in the U-9 was fourth for 169 points, while Greg Hopp was fifth with 127 points.
