Dave Villwock, in the U-96 Spirit of Qatar starting in lane 2, had another great start.
So did Mark Evans in the U-57 Formulaboats.com on the outside. Evans, in lane 4, made it to the first turn first.
But Villwock carved through the turn to come out on the Pasco side of the river first and he was never threatened again to take the 400 points.
J.Michael Kelly, driving the 88 Degree Men, settled early before the race start into lane 1. But he couldn't overcome Villwock and finished second for 300 points.
"I just had to get a good start and J. Michael and I did that," said Villwock. "So far so good."
Kelly agreed, and he liked the way his boat performed.
"That was by far the best we ran all weekend," said Kelly. "Against Villwock, you almost have to hope he makes a mistake."
Mike Webster, driving the U-22 Great Scott! Presents Campaign WSU, outdueled Mark Evans for third place and 225 points.
Evans picked up 169 points for fourth place.
