Quick walk through the pits

Big topic in the pits today: Why are we starting so late?

The 1:50 p.m. start time is the latest anyone can remember for a Sunday at the Columbia Cup.

"Why did we race Saturday?" asked U-96 owner Erick Ellstrom. "We could've raced three heats on Sunday."

The teams will have pressure on the turnaround from the 2A-B-C heats to the 3A-B heats, so they're resting up in chairs.

Scott Raney, owner of the U-11, had a great idea.

"Let us run a morning heat, have the air show, then continue racing," he said.
