Frances "Tammy" and Alfred Wise, of Pasco, celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary on June 24.
They were married June 24, 1939 in the First Presbyterian Church in Billings, Mont.
Tammy worked as a waitress and cashier at the Pasco Elk's Lodge, then as a receptionist and dental assistant for Dr. Robert Shepherd, retiring in 1970. She was a volunteer clerk for Junior Olympic Swim meets at the Pasco Municipal Pool, chairwoman for Sun Bonnet golf tournaments, and superintendent of the hand painted china exhibits at the Benton Franklin County Fair.
Alfred was a oil tanker driver, meat cutter and telegraph operator. He entered the Navy in 1944. They came to Pasco when Western Union transferred Alfred here in 1948 as office manager, a position he held until the office was closed in 1970. Alfred worked for the Pasco Elks Lodge and then the Pasco Moose Lodge. He retired in 1982. Alfred was honored twice as Tri-Citian of the Month by the Tri-Cities Visitor and Convention Bureau.
They have three sons, Stacy Wise of Phoenix, Ariz., Douglas Wise of Pasco and Scott Wise of Aloha, Ore.
They have five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
