PULLMAN -- Washington State wide receiver Marquess Wilson has been named to the 2011 Fred Biletnikoff Award preseason watch list.
Wilson, a sophomore from Tulare, Calif., was named first-team freshman all-america by Sporting News, CollegeFootballNews.com, Rivals.com and Phil Steele while also garnering all-Pac-10 honorable mention after catching 55 passes for 1,006 yards and six touchdowns last season.
Brandon Gibson was the last Cougars player to receive this accolade, appearing on the 2008 watch list.
Earlier this summer, Wilson received preseason all-Pac-12 honors by Lindy's Magazine, Phil Steele Magazine and Athlon Sports Magazine.
The award is named after Fred Biletnikoff, a former All-American at Florida State and a member of the college and pro football halls of fame.
The winner will be announced Dec. 8 at The Home Depot College Football Awards Show.
Previous winners of the award include Randy Moss (Marshall, 1997), Larry Fitzgerald (Pittsburgh, 2003), Mike Hass (Oregon State, 2005) and Golden Tate (Notre Dame, 2009).
