* 1987 -- Eric Maltos pitched a six-hit shutout in the opener and Barry Bowe and Barry O'Neil each had two hits in the nightcap as Kennewick swept an American Legion baseball doubleheader from Hermiston 4-0 and 6-3.

* 1975 -- Pasco's Greg Travis captured the eight-year-old unlimited division national championship and Eric Idler of Burbank took a second-place finish in the 13-14 year-old 85-pound division at the United States Wrestling Federation's national tournament in Idaho Falls.
