Jackson, Toon hit thick at All-State

YAKIMA -- Southridge's Ty Jackson, who earlier this week was named the Tri-City Herald's All-Area MVP, went 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI to lead Team St. Helens to a 10-2 win over Team Rainier on Saturday at the All-State Series baseball games at Yakima County Stadium.

Walla Walla's Kevin Toon led Team Baker to a 15-9 win over Team Adams, going 3-for-4, driving in a run and scoring three times. Wa-Hi teammate Drew Christina started and threw three innings of two-hit ball without giving up an earned run.

St. Helens and Baker will square off in the championship game at 1:15 p.m. today. Adams and Rainier will play for third at 10:25 a.m.
