Kennewick's Ice Harbor beers win gold at competition

— Kennewick’s Ice Harbor Brewing Co.’s Tangerine ExBEERience Hefeweizen and Lighthouse Lager received gold medals at the recent 2011 North American Beer Awards held in Idaho Falls.

The NABA’s annual professional brewing competition on June 4 had more than 1,200 beers competing.

The lager won a gold in the premium American lager category beating out Anheuser-Busch’s Michelob which won a silver medal.

The hefeweizen had previously won a gold medal at the 2005 North American Beer Awards in the fruit beer category.

The beers are on tap at Ice Harbor’s two locations, 206 N. Benton St. and 350 Clover Island Drive, both in Kennewick.
