Jan and Don Nelson of Pasco celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary from 1 to 5 p.m. June 5 with a party at the Marriott Hotel in Richland.

They were married June 2, 1961, in Spokane. They moved from Spokane to the Mid-Columbia in 1966.

Jan worked for Battelle for over 30 years before retiring in 2005.

Don started work at the Federal Building doing elevator repairs in 1966 and worked on the Hanford site retiring from Westinghouse in 1996.

They have two children, Craig Nelson of Pasco and Mark Nelson of Monroe.

They have four grandchildren.
