Marian and Darrell Crawford

Marian and Darrell Crawford of Kennewick will celebrate their 50th anniversary from 5 to 10 p.m. June 11 with an open house at 234908 E. Lechelt Road in Finley.

They were married June 4, 1961, at the Highlands Methodist Church in Kennewick. They have lived in the Mid-Columbia for 60 years, both attending Kennewick High School.

Marian worked a few part-time jobs during holidays but mostly worked as homemaker. She is a past member of the Moose/Elks lodge and Wisconsin Curling Club.

Darrell was in the Washington National Guards and drafted in the Army at age 19. After being discharged from the service he worked on the family farm in Kennewick and as a millwright.

In 1964 he was employed as a truck driver for the Allied/General Chemical plant in Finley. He was promoted to plant manager in Finley and after the plant closed in 1988 he relocated to Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. In 1996, after 32 years of employment, Darrell retired and they moved back to the Tri-Cities. He is a past member of the Moose/Elks Lodge, Finley Saddle Club, Wisconsin Curling Club and the Sheriff's Posse in the 1980s.

They have four children, Teresa Newton of Kennewick, Laurie Wood of Kennewick, Kim Brown of Pasco, and Jo Cravens of Kennewick.

They have 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
