* 1987 -- Tim Anderson of Richland and Dan Colby of Connell finished fourth and fifth, respectively, against a field of 500 runners in the Coeur d'Alene Marathon.

* 1981 -- Ryan Fox set seven Inland Empire AAU and seven pool records to lead the Tri-City Channel Cats to a first-place finish in the Ellensburg Invitational.

* 1967 -- Billy Harris, a former Brooklyn Dodgers pitcher, hit three singles and Mark Purser contributed a pair of hits as Playboy Tavern unleased a 12-hit barrage to post its sixth straight win, 8-1, over the Tri-City Bankers in the Wallula Division of the Twin-City Slow-Pitch Softball League.
