Here are some of the day camps offered in the Mid-Columbia:
Summer camps
Boys and Girls Club Summer Day Camp
Dates: June 15-Aug. 26, Monday-Friday from 6:30 a.m.-6 p.m.
Ages: Preschool to sixth grade
Activities: Each week will be themed and include special guests, game room activities, weekly field trips, computer lab along with breakfast, lunch and a snack. Pay by the day or week and DSHS accepted.

YMCA Summer Day Camp
Camp activities run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and
extended care is available from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at no extra charge.
Where: Camps are based out of four Kennewick schools -- Lincoln Elementary, Desert Hills Middle School, Canyon View Elementary and Vista Elementary.
Activities: Ranging from field trips and games to swimming and sports.
Registration: Continues until camp is filled. Space is limited. Register by the week or for the entire summer at the YMCA offices in Richland or Kennewick.
Cost: $130/week for members, $140/week for nonmembers. The YMCA accepts DSHS payment and financial assistance is available. Register at YMCA offices in Richland or Kennewick.
Tri-City Court Club

Summer Adventure Camp: From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, June 13-Aug. 26 (no camp July 4). Adventurers are ages 6 to 9 and Explorers are ages 10 to 13.
Activities: Field trips to roller rink, ice skating, kayaking on the Columbia River and slide down 28-foot water slide, enjoy a tube float down river and scale 35-foot rock wall.
Cost per week: Members pre-registration $140, regular rate $160; nonmember pre-registration $160, regular rate $180.
Cost per day: Members pre-registration $40, regular rate $50; nonmember pre-registration $45, regular rate $55.
Sports Camps: 10:30 a.m. to noon Monday-Friday.
Cost: $50 for members ($40 for second child in family), $60 for nonmembers ($50 for second child in family).
Volleyball: Children entering sixth through eighth grades, June 20-24.
Rock climbing: Ages 8 to 14, July 18-22 .
Summer Preschool: From noon to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Junior Summer Tennis Camps Learn the fundamentals of tennis, the rules, how to score a match, proper technique and game strategies.

Classes: Quick Start (kids 4 to 6), 10 to 10:30 a.m. Monday and Wednesday.

* Starfish Swim School Lessons start June 13 with new sessions starting every three weeks. Classes run Monday-Thursday and consist of 12 25-minute lessons.

Columbia Basin Racquet Club
* Junior Summer Camps: 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Dates: Session 1, June 13-July 1; session 2, July 5-July 22 (closed on July 4); session 3, July 25-Aug. 12; session 4, Aug. 15-Sept. 2.
Activities: Kids programs for 3- to 6-year-olds include arts and crafts, games, swimming, hockey soccer, dodgeball, basketball, racquetball, rock wall climbing, guest speakers and weekly field trips. Kids ages 7 to 13 will participate in activities including arts and crafts, health and nutrition, swimming, rock wall climbing, kids fitness, racquetball, gym games, guest speakers and field trips.
Session cost (full session only): First camper costs $455 for member, $490 for nonmember $490; second camper costs $425 for member, $460 for nonmember.
Weekly cost (full week only): First camper costs $170 for member, $185 for nonmember; second camper costs $160 for member, $175 for nonmember.

Food: Snacks will be provided during the day. Camp lunches will be provided for $6.50 per day.
The Arc of Tri-Cities
Summer day camp for kids ages 2 to 7. An inclusive camp for children with autism, developmental delays and typically developing kids for socialization and fun.
Dates: 9 to 11:30 a.m. Monday and Wednesday, Tuesday and Thursday or all four days, June 20-Aug. 1.
Cost: $30 per session for first child, $17 per session for each additional sibling; $50 per session for one-on-one staffing.

The Arc of Tri-Cities
The Arc of Tri-Cities provides a local summer day camp for all kids with a primary focus on kids with a disability. This is an opportunity for kids with and without disabilities to interact and share their love of summer fun.
Transportation provided to and from home for kids living within the Tri-City boundaries.
Who: Ages 7 through 21.
Where: Two camps located in the Tri-Cities.
When: Weekly June 20-Aug. 17.
Time: 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
Why: Make friends, lots of physical activities, swimming, bowling, skating, movies, crafts, and more.
Cost: $125 per week for group level; $80 for 3 day weeks; $275 for one on one level.

Healthy Living Camp
9:30-11:30 a.m. Monday-Thursday, July 18-21 at 1400 Seventh St., Umatilla High School gym.
Cost: Free to Umatilla kids ages 5 to 11.

Activities: Free breakfast and lunch will be available before and after the program through the Umatilla School District summer nutrition program.
The Boys & Girls Club Music & Arts Center.
Camp activities are weekly themes based on fine arts, music and technology and include field trips and recreational sports.
Camp hours: 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Extended crop-in offered from 7 to 8 a.m. for an additional fee.

Ready, Set Animate: June 13-17, $140. Spend the first week of summer learning about stop-motion animation and the animators that created iconic films and characters in this medium.
Silly Science: June 20-24, $140. Who says science can't be fun and creative? A fun-filled week of science and how it affects art, music and the world.
Lego Robotics/Go-Go Legos: June 20-24, $140. This camp is great for beginners looking to create robots that can move.
Costumes, Lights, Glee: June 27-July 8, $260. Inspired by show choirs and the music of Glee, members will put on drama skits, dance and sing in musical numbers. At the end of camp, members will put on performances for friends and family.
It's Not Easy Being Green: July 11-15, $140. What's your carbon footprint? Create artwork with recyclable materials and learn new ways to reuse household items.
Get Healthy, Stay Fit: July 18-22, $140. Campers will spend the week playing soccer, softball, creating workout music, four square painting and other fun activities to encourage healthy living and staying fit during the summer months.
Lego Robotics: Revenge of the Sensors: July 18-22, $140. Campers will to learn more about Lego Robotics and their sensors.
Artsy Wood: July 25-29, $140. Create wonderful pieces of art using only wood. Learn how to carve wood, build using wood and the importance of wood in our lives.
Say Cheese: Aug. 1-5, $140. Armed with digital cameras, members will hike, climb and explore the Tri-Cities' natural habitats.
Avant Garde Art: August 8-12, $140. Learn new techniques and ways to create art masterpieces.
Lego Robotics: Battle Bots: Aug. 8-12, $140. Taking Legos to a whole new level.
Percussion Junction: Aug. 15-19, $140. Using nontraditional instruments, learn to make music as a group.
Movie Tech: Aug. 22-26, $140. Spend the week creating your own fictional movie trailer.
Lifequest Fitness Center Summer Sports Camps
Weekly, Monday-Thursday from June 13 to Aug. 18.
Ages: 8-14.
Activities: Parents and children can choose from baseball, soccer or football camp. Your child can sign up for a daily visit, weekly visit, monthly or for the entire 10-week program.
Football: Offensive and defensive passing drills, no pad scrimmaging and position specific drills.
Baseball: Hitting instruction, throwing mechanics and defensive skills.
Soccer: Precision and ball control, increased game intelligence and finishing abilities.

Max Muscle Sports Nutrition
This group will have an all-sport speed camp from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 11 at Edgar Brown Stadium at Pasco High School, 1108 N. 10th Ave.
Ages: 12-18.
Activities: Tyree Washington, a four-time Olympic gold medalist sprinter, and Chris Williams, an Olympic medalist from Jamaica, will offer help and techniques. The primary focus of the camp is to train athletes to improve and increase their swiftness, agility and speed.

Summer Reading & Spelling Camp
This runs June 14-July 15.
Activities: Program includes 60 hours of instructions in phonics, spelling rules, grammar, homonyms, homographs, homophones and penmanship.

Summer Science Camps
Campers will conduct experiments and build inventions while being introduced to science concepts. Camps are Monday through Friday with full-day camps from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and half-day camps from 8:30 a.m. to noon (unless otherwise noted) at WSU Tri-Cities in Richland.
Elementary school: For kids entering kindergarten through fifth grade.
