WALLA WALLA -- A Seattle woman riding a bicycle was killed after being struck by a car Saturday on Middle Waitsburg Road near Walla Walla. Sara S. Eustis, 61, died at a Walla Walla hospital.

Eustis and another woman were pedaling south on Middle Waitsburg Road about 10:30 a.m. when Melvin J. Bohleen of Dayton drove up behind them and attempted to go around, said Capt. Barry Blackman of the Walla Walla County Sheriff's Office.

Bohleen struck Eustis' bike, throwing her onto the hood of his car, then into a ditch. She was wearing a helmet.
