* 1986 -- Led by Bobby Weissenfels, Chris Busselman and Millicent Shaw, the Hanford boys and girls track teams each won the Mid-Valley League district track meet. The Falcons boys finished with 121 1/2 points -- 39 more than second-place Selah, and the girls scored 103 points to easily outdistance runner-up Sunnyside, which finished with 60 points.

* 1973 -- Tony Sahm, a Marcus Whitman elementary student from Pasco, won three events in the 10-11 year-old division and tied one Inland Empire record in the AAU Junior Olympics preliminary track and field meet at Edgar Brown Stadium in Pasco. Sahm finished the 100-yard dash in 12.9 seconds, tying a record held by two others, and also won the 200-yard dash (29.05) and the standing long jump (7 feet, 3 inches).
