Three Rivers falls in state lacrosse playoffs

BELLEVUE -- Sammamish defeated Three Rivers 14-11 on Saturday in the Washington High School Boys Lacrosse Division II playoffs at Robinswood Park.

Three Rivers finished its season with a regular-season record of 8-4-0, 10-6-0 overall. They took second in the Eastern Division.

McKay Mitchell, a junior captain, paced Three Rivers with five points. His four goals matched his season-best performance.

Sammamish limited Drew Wade, Three Rivers' top scorer in the regular season, to one goal and zero assists.

Senior captain Brian Headland matched his season-high with four goals for Sammamish, 13-0-0 in Evergreen Division and 16-1-0 overall.

Daniel Hart made four saves on 18 shots in the 48-minute match as the Three Rivers goalie. Connor Reichenbach stopped two of 13 shots on goal for Sammamish, which faces Providence in the quarterfinals.

Wenatchee, the Eastern Division champions, rolled to a 19-4 playoff victory over Gig Harbor. Wenatchee meets Garfield in the quarterfinals.
