I never heard so much caterwauling over a nonissue in my life. Someone has a very vivid imagination! I have RV'd all across this country in all kinds of parks and have yet to see the list of wild, sometimes illicit activities all of barely 100 people near Cottonwood Elementary School seem to fear.
Smoke from campfires is a nonissue for RVers, much less those outside the park. The smokescreen of crimes against children is one of the most ludicrous things I have ever heard! Hundreds of families, thousands of kids and not one incident in thousands of miles and many parks!
As to noise and light (and campfires), these things are strictly enforced by a whole raft of local codes. No such things occur, with an occasional violation which is quickly stopped by management.
As to the dumping of holding tanks, restrictions are very tight and penalties very harsh. Your evening serenity is in no danger from today's RVs. If you can afford one, you take care of it and the area where you park. It's 2011, not 1950! Lastly, it is hard to believe that in even 100 families, there is not one RV of some type whose owners enjoy these parks! Imaginations are too vivid, truth too bent! Get real!
