* 1985 -- Gene and Lorree Hayes parred the first playoff hole to win the gross title at 151 strokes in the 67-team Canyon Lakes Mother's Day Chapman golf match.

* 1983 -- Sydney Ortega and Keesha Van Huesden put back-to-back home runs together to highlight a seven-run second inning in the opener as Royal captured the Yakima Valley A Eastern division softball crown with a sweep of 15-5 and 16-9 over Kiona-Benton. The Knights pounded out 28 hits in the two games to close out their regular season with a 7-1 league mark, 16-4 overall.
