* 1975 -- Julie Pethram and Kathy Sullivan each picked up singles victories, but the Columbia Basin College women's tennis team fell on the road to Eastern Oregon 4-3. Carla Faulk and Susan Breitenfeldt earned the Hawks' lone doubles win.

* 1963 -- The visiting Richland baseball team beat Southern Division rival Kennewick 4-2 in 12 innings. Billy Reynolds singled and Ray Stein and Terry Jones walked to load the bases with one out in the 12th. A throw to home by Kennewick shortstop Marv Purvis hit the dirt and bounced off the backstop, and two runs scored for the winning margin. Richland's Denny Smith pitched a complete game, striking out eight and walking four. Kennewick's Joe Courtney, who left in the top of the 12th, struck out 12 and walked nine.
