* 1989 -- Andy Graber of Kamiakin and Shaley Denler of Richland each scored split-set victories to capture the singles championships at the Tri-City Invitational tennis tournament. Graber defeated his Centennial opponent 6-4, 0-6, 6-2 while Denler came back to defeat Pasco's Mellisa McNickle 5-7, 6-1, 6-2. For her achievement, Denler was selected Athlete of the Week.

* 1971 -- Kiona-Benton hurler Bob Pogue struck out 14 St. Patrick batters in a Tri-County League junior high baseball action -- his second league no-hitter this season -- and the Bears took advantage of Pogue's performance to post a 6-0 victory.
