* 1983 -- Catcher Jeff Simmelink hit a grand slam and a two-run shot to lead Kamiakin to an 18-2 thrashing of Pasco in the first game of a Big Nine Southern Division doubleheader. But the Bulldogs bounced back to salvage a split with a 6-5 win in the nightcap. Jeff Corbally was an offensive standout for the Braves, going 5-for-8 on the night with a home run and double.

* 1979 -- Columbia-Burbank's Mike Johnston singled, stole second, took third on a sacrifice and raced home on a wild pitch to put his team ahead by two as the Coyotes posted a 3-1 nonleague victory over the River View Panthers.
