RICHLAND -- A driver and passenger were injured Sunday afternoon when a sudden lane change on Bypass Highway 240 caused their car to crash into a concrete barrier near I-182 in Richland.
The Washington State Patrol reported that a silver Ford Explorer eastbound from George Washington Way onto Highway 240 at 12:30 p.m. did not yield right of way to a 1991 Mazda Protoge driven by Talon Lee Yager, 21, of Richland.
The Mazda ran off the road and into the concrete barrier, receiving total damage, while the Ford left without stopping.
Yager was treated at the scene for injuries, while a passenger, Tiffani Kara Mathes, 17, of Kennewick, was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center.
No additional information was available about Mathes' condition.
