Connie and Roger Simpson of Kennewick will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary April 2 in New Orleans aboard the Steamboat Natchez Harbor Jazz Cruise.

They were married April 2, 1961, in the First Christian Church in The Dalles, Ore. They moved to the Tri-Cities area 36 years ago from Seattle.

Connie was a supervisor of the Benton-Franklin Counties Assessment Center and worked with the Benton Franklin County Adult Drug Court. She retired in 2008 from the Benton-Franklin Counties Department of Human Services.

Roger was a member of Local No. 427 and retired from the FD Thomas Co. in 2007. He is a member of Masonic Lodge 173.

They have two children, Morgan (Shelly) Simpson of Everson and Katherine (Cory) Heater of Selah. They have four grandchildren.
