The staff of the Blue Ribbon Commission on America's Nuclear Future has prepared a report summarizing the key themes the commission has heard, including at a public hearing in the Tri-Cities.

The commission will use the report and comments received to help guide its examination of options as it develops a draft set of recommendations for Energy Secretary Steven Chu.

The commission is considering options for the nation's used commercial nuclear fuel and high-level radioactive waste at Hanford and other Department of Energy nuclear weapons sites.

It has been instructed not to consider Yucca Mountain, Nev., as a repository for waste.

The "What We've Heard" report is posted at www.brc.gov under "Key Documents."

Comments on the report may be sent to brc@nuclear.energy.gov.
