* 1986 -- The Richland baseball team defeated Sunset of Beaverton, Ore., 6-0 behind a two-hit shutout by Danny Hendrickson and Pat Mohondro. Jim Perryman went 3-for-3 as the host Bombers improved to 3-0.

* 1981 -- Sean Arey shot a 2-under-par 74 in rain and wind to help give Columbia Basin College a one-stroke lead over Idaho after the first round of the Tri-City Intercollegiate at Sham-Na-Pum golf course. Kim Davis had a 76, Tom Hogg a 78 and Bob Janes a 79 for the Hawks.

* 1977 -- In a match played indoors because of rain, the CBC men's tennis team lost to Washington State 9-0 in Pullman. WSU's Roger Tyzzer, an Australian exchange student, beat CBC's Rob Stevenson 7-6, 6-4 at No. 1 singles. At No. 1 doubles, Tyzzer and Mark Howell defeated Stevenson and Jeff Petersen 7-5, 3-6, 6-3.
