* 1975 -- Scott Bliss of Othello added another state wrestling crown to his trophy case by capturing the Washington state freestyle tournament held in Ellensburg. Bliss, who won the AA championship earlier this year, took first place in the 143-pound division to lead the parade of nine area wrestlers who took home medals. Other area placers included Matt Wilson of Kennewick and rival Doug Sams of Kamiakin, who took third and fourth at 105.5; Brave Chip Taylor third at 114.5; Bob May of Kamiakin and Othello's Neil Gilbert, three-four in the 123-pound class; Fred Miles of Pasco, the bronze-medalist at 165; and Othello's Craig Herbert, the 178-pound runnerup.
