Margarite and Jesse Gale of Kennewick will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary along with Jesse's 90th birthday on April 16 with a family luncheon.

An open house will be held April 16 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 515 S. Union St., Kennewick.

They were married March 16, 1946, in Kennewick.

Margarite moved to Kennewick with her parents in September 1933. She graduated from Kennewick High School in 1942 and went to work at the Pasco Army Engineering Depot in Big Pasco as a messenger between warehouses. She soon became a clerk and worked from 1942 until 1947.

Jesse graduated from Adrian High School in Adrian, Ore., in 1940. He worked at the Naval Base in Pasco in 1942 before joining the Navy. He served as a Navy electrician during World War II. He was stationed aboard a destroyer mine sweeper, then transferred to a patrol craft-submarine chaser in the Aleutian Islands. Jesse received an honorable discharge from the Navy in January 1946.

He worked for United Builders of Washington in Yakima for 18 years before retiring in 1985. He has a member of Carpenters Local 1849 for 69 years.

They have five children, Roy and Joan Gale of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Gloria Gale of Kennewick; Donald and Glenna Gale of Kennewick; Mary and Scott Miller of Garland, Utah; and Larry and Carren Gale of Post Falls, Idaho.

They have 25 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren.
