* 1984 -- Dan Hanes scored 27 points, including 10 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter, to lead the Othello boys to a Washington AA championship with a 57-56 win over Chief Sealth at the Seattle Coliseum. It was the Huskies' third consecutive one-point victory at state. Hanes was named MVP of the AA All-Tournament squad, which also included Othello teammates Shawn Bohannan and Tim Muscott.

* 1977 -- Hilda Clift took low gross honors while Ann DeJong earned low net honors in the opening event of the season for the Columbia Park "Golf Bags."
