* 1971 -- Lonnie Clevenger, 18, a Dayton, Ore., High School student who was married with a young child, played basketball for his school with the help of the Yamhill County Circuit Court. Dayton had a rule against married students participating in varsity sports, but Yamhill Circuit Judge Curt Rossman issued a temporary injunction, ordering Dayton school officials to suspend enforcement of the regulation pending the outcome of Clevenger's case as it was being argued in Portland federal court. Clevenger scored 17 points for Dayton, but the team lost 67-50 to Banks.
