* 1980 -- The Columbia Basin College men's basketball team defeated Spokane Community College 105-84 at the Kamiakin High School gym. The Hawks broke open the game with a 22-6 run early in the second half to improve to 6-0 in Northwest Community College Conference Eastern Division play. Mack Harris had 30 points and 14 rebounds for the Hawks. Spokane's Brice Searles went 21-of-35 from the field and finished with 42 points, but he and assistant coach Jerry Skaife were hit with technical fouls that allowed CBC to get to the line and put the game away.
