* 1987 -- Kennewick wrestler Brady Yount remained undefeated in the Big Nine with a 4-0 win over Wenatchee's Neil McCray at 178 pounds, but the Panthers (7-0-1) clinched the conference title with a 42-22 victory. Lions coach Bill Conrad said Kennewick would file a letter of protest because a Wenatchee supporter held up an unofficial sign saying the Panthers were No. 1.

* 1970 -- The Columbia Basin College wrestling team won its second consecutive dual, 26-13 against visiting Clark College. Coach John Howard's Hawks, missing state champion Mike McFadden, got pins from Galyn DeCoria at 158 pounds and Carvin Travis, who had lost his only other match earlier in the season, at 190.
