RICHLAND — Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy were great in small doses.

Today, close to 80 years later, their shorts are still really funny. Their feature films are not so good. The best thing about this Laurel and Hardy flick is its use as study material in the history of cinematic humor.

In 1933, Sons of the Desert was probably funny, which is why it is considered a classic.

Though you won’t laugh much, see the opening flick in the Battelle Film Club's Spring Series for that reason alone.
