Small farm business planning topic of Richland class

— A class called “Agricultural Entrepreneurship — Business Planning for a Small Farm” is being offered starting Wednesday, Jan. 26, at the Washington State University Tri-Cities campus in Richland.

The class will be from 6-9 p.m. Wednesdays through April 13. The cost is $225.

Local guest speakers will include bankers, accountants, attorneys and others. Participants will learn about business planning, direct marketing and record keeping. They also will receive information on federal and state programs targeted to the needs of small producers, including resources to improve risk management and conservation practices.
