Owners of Windermere in Tri-Cities separate

Cathy Kessinger, Herald staff writerDecember 15, 2010

The Windermere Real Estate offices in Kennewick and Richland are now separate businesses.

David Retter, who started the Windermere Real Estate/Tri-Cities in 1993, said he and Jeff Thompson have each taken an office of the company.

The company was divided because of differing philosophies on marketing and community giving, Retter said. He would not comment further.

Retter continues to run the Kennewick Windermere office, at 329 N. Kellogg St., with 54 agents. He also operates the commercial and residential property management business.

Jeff Thompson, who became a partner in 1997, is running the Richland Windermere Real Estate office, which has 37 agents. Thompson said he and Retter had a different business model for the office.
