WALLA WALLA -- Nicholas Cole Cellars in downtown Walla Walla is closing its doors after nearly 10 years in business.

Owner Mike Neuffer has moved to Seattle to take care of his two teenage children after his ex-wife passed away in August after a seven-year battle with cancer.

Neuffer opened Nicholas Cole and planted a 42-acre vineyard in Walla Walla in 2001. In 2006, he sold the vineyard and winery to Michael Corliss, owner of Corliss Estates. In 2008, Nicholas Cole relocated to a tasting room in downtown Walla Walla.
