Down syndrome awareness walk is today

By the Herald staff September 25, 2010

A Buddy Walk will be held at 11 a.m. today at Howard Amon Park in Richland by the Down Syndrome Association of the Mid-Columbia. The walk starts at the fingernail stage.

The walk is planned to raise awareness and encourage inclusion for people with Down syndrome and to raise money for Mid-Columbia and national programs.

Participants will walk a one-mile course, and enjoy music, lunch and activities.

Since 2007, annual Mid-Columbia Buddy Walks have raised $125,000.
