Screening, art auction to aid malaria prevention

By the Herald staff

A movie screening and art auction to raise money for global malaria prevention is from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Friday at Bethel Church, 600 Shockley Road, Richland.

"Night of Nets" will include a viewing of the film When the Night Comes, directed by Bobby Bailey of the organization Invisible Children, a news release said. There also will be an art auction.

Proceeds will go to buy mosquito nets, which help prevent the spread of malaria. Artists whose work will be featured include John Holland, Shawna Holland, Melinda McInturff and Nathan Ellefson.

Art donations are welcome before the event. There's no admission fee.

For more information, call 628-1141 or e-mail MacFarlan6 @charter.net.
