WALLA WALLA -- New restaurant Dominick's on the Runway quietly has taken off at the Walla Walla Regional Airport.
City Councilman Dominick Elia and his wife, Pam, silently opened their Italian-inspired restaurant this week in the terminal building. The restaurant is their first such venture.
Their son, Nick Elia, is at the helm in the kitchen. A grand-opening celebration is in the works for a later day, Dominick Elia said.
With classic Italian dishes, the menu features steak and seafood. Lunch prices range from $6 to $15. Dinners run from $9 to $26. The lounge offers dinner and a limited menu certain hours. Dominick's operates from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

Wendy's fans across the region are asking "where's the beef" after the sudden closure of several of the fast-food chain's operations last week.
A spokeswoman for the corporation confirmed the closures in Kennewick, Walla Walla and Yakima, and said the company is working with the franchisee to work through the operations' hiccups.
Kitty Munger said she had no details about the reason for the closures, no timeline for a possible re-opening and no certainty that if the restaurant re-opens it will be under the same owner.
