Volleyball: Kamiakin opens league play with sweep

PASCO -- Kassy Larson had seven kills and Taylor Esvelt six to pace Kamiakin's balanced attack in a 25-18, 25-7, 25-16 sweep of Pasco on Tuesday in the CBBN 3A volleyball opener for both teams.

Tori Softich and Abby Blanchard had five kills apiece for the visiting Braves.

Yessica Diaz led the Bulldogs with nine kills and 11 digs, and Sierra Linke had a fine all-round game.

KENNEWICK -- Kelsey Julian had 13 kills, five blocks and two aces for host Kennewick in a CBBN 3A win over Hanford.

Meghan McIntyre added 11 kills for the Lions, and Kaytlyn Coleman had six blocks.

Cricket Louiess's 10 kills led the Falcons, and Nikki Eldred added seven kills and five blocks.

Shanita Hill had 15 kills and 11 digs to pace Chiawana. Sadie Sparks and Rachel Brayton combined for 21 kills for the Riverhawks.
