PROSSER -- Austin Weatherby had a monster game and the River View Panthers exacted revenge from last season with a 34-26 nonleague victory against Goldendale at Art Fiker in Prosser.
Weatherby threw for 388 yards and five touchdowns, though he also threw three interceptions. The game was played in Prosser instead of Goldendale because of smoke from a wildfire on Satus Pass.
"(Weatherby) is seeing the field nicely," River View coach Brett Jay said. "He would be the first to tell you the wide receivers made one play after another and our offensive line gave him a lot of time to dissect the defense.

FINLEY -- Alonso Mendoza scored on a 2-yard run with 36 seconds left, and though the two-point conversion failed, it didn't matter as River View (3-0, 1-0) came away with a 27-26 home victory over Kiona-Benton in its SCAC East opener Friday.
"It was an incredible football game," River View coach Brett Jay said. "Ki-Be went down and scored with 3:30 left, and then we went 70 yards in three minutes."
Kiona-Benton coach Charlie Hobbick lamented a blocked kick after Anfernee Cortez's 15-yard run in the third quarter.
