Open mic poetry reading night starts at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 7 in the East Building Auditorium at Washington State University Tri-Cities, 2710 University Drive, Richland.
Admission is free and the event is open to all ages.

Wyoming resorts get ready to open
JACKSON, Wyo. -- A few Wyoming ski areas are getting ready to open for the season.
Friday is opening day for Grand Targhee Resort and the Snowy Range ski area. The Powell Tribune reported that the Sleeping Giant ski area and Red Lodge Mountain Resort in Montana also open Friday.
On Saturday, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort will open with more than 3,000 vertical feet of skiing.
