YAKIMA -- The Tri-City Dust Devils lost their fifth straight game Tuesday, 4-2 to the Yakima Bears at County Stadium, letting a 2-1 lead slip away in the late innings.

A costly error by Tri-City third baseman Jayson Langfels in the sixth inning led to three unearned runs by Yakima, overturning a 2-1 Dust Devils lead.

With their 43rd loss of the season, the Dust Devils (28-43) also tied the team mark for futility, matching the 2003 Tri-City squad -- which finished 33-43 -- for most losses in a season.

But the Dust Devils did receive some good news when they learned that former starting pitcher Chad Bettis was named to the Northwest League All-Star team.

Bettis, the Colorado Rockies' second-round draft pick out of Texas Tech, finished 4-1 with a 1.12 ERA in nine starts with Tri-City.

Since being promoted to Asheville, the Rockies' Low-A North Carolina affiliate, Bettis has gone 1-0 with a 1.42 ERA in his first two South Atlantic League starts.
