A 23-year-old man pleaded innocent to allegations he stole his former roommate's 1989 Jaguar and used the man's debit card to buy beer at a Kennewick club.
Ricardo Rivas Jr. of Pasco also is accused of giving Pasco police a fake name and birth date before his arrest.
Rivas was arrested Aug. 23 after the victim called police to report he had found the missing car in front of Rivas' uncle's house.
Rivas was positively identified by the victim, court documents said.
The former roommate told officers his wallet was in the car, which was taken Aug. 21, and several debit charges had been made since then, documents said.
Rivas allegedly told police that he had used the debit card to get beer that night at Jack Didley's Night Club and to get fuel at a gas station.
Rivas' trial is scheduled for Oct. 13 on charges of second-degree taking a vehicle without permission and second-degree possession of stolen property, both felonies, and making false or misleading statements to a public servant, a gross misdemeanor.
His bail was reduced Tuesday to $5,000, down from $10,000 as set at his initial court appearance.
