September's ArtWalk in downtown Kennewick will feature new artists as well as a few new venues.
"We welcome the approach of cooler, shorter evenings with more fantastic artists to meet," said Laura Gable, an artist and one of the event organizers. "We have three new businesses added this month, and two of them are brand new businesses (to the downtown area)."
This month's walk is from 5 to 9 p.m. Sept. 2. Here's the list of participating businesses:
-- Laura Gable Studio, 17 N. Auburn St., features artist Meg Miller's rock paintings, watercolors and mono-prints.
-- Studio 17B, at 17B N. Auburn St., features the artwork of Cameron Mills, Jeremy Zohn and Jennifer Zohn.
-- Edward D. Jones, 16 W. Kennewick Ave., features work by members of the Tri-City Digital Photography Club.
-- The Roxy Wine Bar and Kennewick Coffee Company, at 201 and 101 W. Kennewick Ave., features live music and photography by Paul Staley and Alan Wicks.
-- Roxy Antiques, 101 W. Kennewick Ave., features beading by Deb Bone Harris.
-- The Bridge, 127 W. Kennewick Ave., features art of Cindy Rutherford, John Gabriel and Peter Myers.
-- Gallery at 7, 7 S. Benton St., features photography by Alex Lasota.
-- Swanky Babies, 224 W. Kennewick Ave., features photography of Jenna Boogerd.
-- Sagebrush Old West, 10 N. Cascade St., features mix of various artists' work from the Sagebrush Art Group.
-- Essence Photography, 7 N. Cascade St., features the photography of John Sokol.
-- Chain Reaction Bike Shop, 319 W. Kennewick Ave., features paintings of Susan Cochrane.
-- Splash Gallery, 11 S. Dayton St., features scarves and jewelry by Scott McMillan.
-- Lisa McGee Decor, 9 S. Dayton St., features handcrafted, tailored clothing and quilts.
-- You & I Framing & Gallery, 214 W. First Ave., features aerial photography by David Wyatt, multimedia work by Jan Nillson, and moody paintings by Robert Kozak.
-- Chell Design, 11 S. Benton St., Suite A, features work by students artists.
-- O'Henry's a Go Go restaurant, 20 S. Auburn St., features the work of drip artist Malia Graves.

From 6 to 9 p.m. about 15 establishments will stay open late featuring the work of various artists.

The monthly ArtWalk is from 5 to 9 p.m. Dec. 1 in downtown Kennewick.
Eighteen businesses will keep their doors open extended hours to showcase artists' work as well as feature local musicians. There is no cost to attend, and all ages are welcome.

CBC faculty art exhibit opens Feb. 13 in Pasco
Columbia Basin College's annual faculty art exhibit opens Feb. 13 and continues through March 8 at the Esvelt Gallery on the Pasco campus.
The exhibit features a wide range of new approaches the artists employed for this exhibition in areas of ceramics, drawings, paintings, photography and sculpture.
Faculty members taking part in the event are Greg Pierce, Jim Craig, Tracy Petre, Karen Starkey, Howard Barlow, Ted Neth, Morse Clary, Mary Dryburgh, Zachary Mazure and Victoria Gravenslund.

Artist Deborah Watkins is back in town and she couldn't be happier.
She moved to Portland about six years ago when her husband Dave was transferred to a new job. They returned a few months ago.
Now she plans to continue her involvement with the monthly downtown Kennewick ArtWalk that she co-founded in 2003.
