If you're interested in being a model, then you might want to drive to Ellensburg on Aug. 21 to take part in the state's next top model event.
Seattle Models Guild along with Ellenburg's Flirt fashion store, Photonuvo portrait studio, and Bobbi Brown Professional Cosmetics are co-sponsoring a casting call to wannabe models.
The event starts at 7 p.m., and there is no cost to participate. Potential models will have the chance to meet modeling scouts from the Seattle Models Guild, have make-over sessions with Bobbi Brown representatives and photos taken by Linda Hamilton with Photonuvo.
There also will be a show with fashions provided by Flirt and haircuts and styling will be available provided by Gaylyn's Salon in Ellensburg.

Beef Counts donates roasts to needy in Pasco
Earlier this month, the Washington beef industry's Beef Counts program provided 1,680 pounds of round roasts at a Second Harvest mobile food distribution stop at Tierra Vida in Pasco.
On Dec. 6, 408 families took home boxes of food that totaled 15,945 pounds. The parcels includes fresh produce including as onions, potatoes, pears and avocados.
The Beef Counts event in Pasco kicked off a week of beef distributions across Eastern Washington, with events being in Yakima, Ellensburg and Spokane.

Motorcyclists and classic car buffs can go on a "ride of dreams" and help raise money for Special Olympics.
Kennewick is one of five starting points for the second annual Northwest Ride of Dreams, a statewide fundraiser that benefits the Law Enforcement Torch Run Campaign.
The idea behind the event is that motorcyclists from around the state will ride to Ellensburg, where they then spend the day participating in a variety of activities, including checking out cars at the classic car show.
